What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant- Vascular Surgery position at Santa Barbara Vascular Specialists?
Our outpatient vascular surgery practice in Santa Maria is seeking a reliable and professional Medical Assistant to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate is organized, bilingual, and experienced in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced specialty setting.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and prepare them for exams
- Obtain and document vital signs, medical history, and current medications
- Perform light wound care and dressing changes as directed
- Obtain insurance authorizations and referrals for procedures and imaging
- Maintain clean and well-stocked exam rooms and clinical supplies
- Support patient scheduling, charting, and communication in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Provide excellent patient service and assist with front or back office tasks as needed
Qualifications
- At least 2 year of experience in an outpatient or surgical specialty setting preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Certification as a Medical Assistant not required
- Experience with insurance authorizations and EMR systems preferred
- Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
Schedule
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
- No weekends or evenings
