- Prepare and serve food including texture modified and therapeutic diets according to the facility menu and nutritional orders.
- Prepare food in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations and our policies and procedures, and, as directed by the Certified Dietary Manager to ensure that quality food service is provided.
- Be detail-oriented, professional, and a team player who works well with others.
- Assist dietary aides as necessary and direct other employees with approval and in the absence of the Certified Dietary Manager.
- Be able to follow time schedules for meal preparation and serving.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized kitchen.
- Have a general knowledge and understanding of nutrition.
- Be able to read and accurately apply requirements of food tray cards.
- Have knowledge of quantity food production and serving techniques, and food safety/sanitation requirements.
- Interact positively with residents, families, vendors, staff, and other personnel.
- Prior cooking experience in a healthcare facility is preferred.
