Requirements / Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and prior experience working with students in a classroom environment. Experience relative to this position must be detailed on the application. Experience may be paid or unpaid. ESEA/NCLB requirements must be met by compliance with one of the following methods: a) Completion of 48 units from an accredited college or university; or b) Completion of an associate degree or higher from an accredited college or university; or c) Paraeducator Certificate or successful completion of CBEST; or d) Passage of the ESEA Approved Academic Exam
Applications will be screened for completeness, relevant training/experience, and minimum qualifications. - ESEA/NCLB compliance will be ranked on a matrix based on education and experience. - ESEA/NCLB compliance must take the Paraeducator Exam and will be ranked based on their score. An eligibility list will be created and used to fill current and future vacancies. The Paraeducator Exam is administered by the Fresno County Office of Education and aligns with the job description.
