Warehouse Associate/ Fork Truck Driver

The Warehouse Associate at SAA Warehouse is responsible for efficient material handling, product care, and ensuring a safe and organized warehouse environment. This role involves opening and unpacking shipments, managing pallets, operating equipment, and adhering to safety and quality standards. Associates work collaboratively in teams and report to the warehouse manager, contributing to seamless warehouse operations and maintaining product integrity.

Responsibilities

• Unpack incoming shipments carefully to prevent product damage
• Break down and dispose of cardboard boxes in designated recycling or waste areas
• Remove labels from containers or boxes to ensure cleanliness and reusability
• Handle products with care during storage, transfer, and shipping
• Safely load and unload pallets using forklifts, pallet jacks, or by hand
• Organize pallets in storage areas to maximize space and accessibility
• Inspect and secure pallets for stability with straps, wraps, or covers
• Sort and dispose of waste materials according to company and environmental guidelines
• Operate warehouse equipment responsibly and perform routine equipment checks
• Follow all safety protocols including PPE use and proper lifting techniques
• Maintain a clean, organized work area to prevent accidents and contamination
• Document box openings, product handling, and pallet movements accurately
• Report any issues with shipments, equipment, or storage conditions to supervisors
• Perform repetitive physical tasks and handle heavy items safely in various warehouse conditions

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in warehouse operations
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Forklift operator certification
• Skills in forklift operation, material handling, and inventory management
• Knowledge of safety compliance, equipment maintenance, and waste management
• Strong physical stamina and attention to detail
• Effective communication and teamwork abilities
