CDL Class A Truck/Lowboy Driver- IN
Position: CDL Class A Truck/Lowboy Driver – Full Time
Department: Homer Tree Service, Inc – ANDERSON, IN
Job Summary: The Class A Truck/Lowboy Driver is a highly motivated and experienced driver that is detail oriented, has strong communication skills, and is willing to work as a team. Must have experience with manual transmissions, double axels and longer trailers as well as experience in off-road driving and rough terrains. Our drivers must always drive safely and be professional and courteous when talking with Supervisors, coworkers and customers.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely transports heavy machinery, oversized loads, and specialized equipment using a lowboy trailer
- Obeys all local, State, Federal and IDOT regulations
- Inspects truck and equipment before leaving and after arriving at locations
- Maintain driver logs and complete pre-trip inspections
- Follow all Homer Tree Service Procedures and Safety Standards
- Adhere to all safety requirements particular to the equipment, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations
- Maintain a clean truck, equipment or machinery
- Assist in loading and unloading of materials
- Transport materials from place of origin to assigned destination
- Ability to work effectively, both independently and as a team
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
- Effective Communication with supervisors and coworkers
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Crew Leader
Qualifications:
- Must hold a valid Illinois Class-A CDL with air brake endorsement.
- Must have a minimum 2 years’ experience as a CDL driver
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Clean background check and drug test
- Experience with manual transmissions, double axles and longer trailers
- Experience in off-road driving & rough terrains
- OSHA familiarity/training
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Diligent attention to detail and safety
- Excellent verbal communication and customer orientation
Benefits:
- Pay Range: $25-$30/hr
- Pay is determined by experience, skill, education, and other factors
