Senior Accountant

Job Title: Lease Accountant

Location: Orlando, FL

Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Lease Accountant to support a large-scale organization with complex commercial leasing operations. This position will focus on lease accounting compliance, financial reporting, and analysis of lease agreements across a diverse portfolio of tenant, operational, and technology-related leases. The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and a solid understanding of lease accounting standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review lease agreements and determine appropriate accounting treatment under ASC 842 standards.
• Maintain and reconcile lease accounting schedules, including lease liabilities, receivables, and related disclosures.
• Support accounting for commercial tenant leases, including food and beverage vendors, IT platforms, and other facility occupants.
• Assist with accounting treatment and analysis of technology-related leases, software agreements, and IT assets.
• Prepare lease-related journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and internal financial reporting requirements.
• Support financial statement preparation and lease-related disclosures.
• Assist with internal and external audit requests related to lease agreements and accounting schedules.
• Analyze large data sets and lease schedules utilizing advanced Excel functions and reporting tools.
• Collaborate with accounting and operational teams to ensure accurate lease administration and reporting.
• Monitor changes in lease accounting guidance and recommend process improvements as needed.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with lease accounting standards, including ASC 842 experience is highly preferred.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and lease accounting treatment.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze large volumes of data.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience supporting audits and financial reporting processes preferred.
