Job Summary
Facilitates and leads effective working relationships with the public, community organizations and civic and business leaders to advance mission, enhance trust and drive business objectives of Sanford Health. Provides updates, education, and clarification on the focused organizational goals of Sanford Health. Plays a lead role in delivering clear messages on Sanford Health initiatives to key community stakeholders and within the city, county, government agency and leadership teams in assigned region(s). Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with local business leaders as well as community non-profit organizations. Works to expand appropriate programs within the community in accordance with strategic and operating plans. Develops communications such as presentations and other documents that Community Relations shares with the public, community organizations and civic and business leaders. Works closely with other system departments to stay up to speed on the prevailing topics in the communities that involve our geographic footprint.
Manages community dividend fund giving for assigned region, which includes evaluating and processing applications, offering recommendations for funding and communicating with applicants as needed. Examines new opportunities for business development and strategic partnerships among all Sanford Service lines and identifies community engagement and speaking opportunities. Responds to all member and community inquiries in timely manner.
Partners with operational leaders to support advancement of community health needs assessment priorities and community benefit investment in assigned region.
Must be a team player and have demonstrated success managing communications or public affairs programs. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and maintain working relationships within all levels of Sanford as well as the public. Provides a positive organizational image to the public and community. Engages in the community and serves on various community organization boards. Must be comfortable with regular face-to-face communication with a variety of stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree required. Area of focus in Marketing, Public Relations, or Communications preferred.
Minimum of six years in community relations, sales/marketing and/or public affairs is required. Demonstrated ability to effectively interact and maintain working relationships within all levels of Sanford Health System as well as general public. Must have past experience dealing with elected officials, business and civic leadership activities.
