Core Duties:

- Review advertisements for bid opportunities
- Review and be familiar with project specifications
- Review and understand Bid documents
- Perform utility takeoffs with high degree of detail and accuracy
- Proof plans for conflicts and constructability concerns, communicate these to the appropriate parties
- Having familiarity with AHJ (Authorities Having Jurisdiction)
- Solicit Material quotes in a timely manner
- Analyze Material Quotes (prices/specifications)
- Complete accurate bids/budgets on projects in a timely manner
- Assist with preparation of purchase orders and subcontracts
- Assist with collecting and reviewing submittal information
- After purchase orders are submitted, track material delivery, lead time and production of materials for delivery to the project
- Coordinate delivery of materials to project
- Provide project package to Superintendent prior to in-house preconstruction meeting
- Assist with communicating production goals to team members in the field
- Assist project manager and superintendent with processing change orders and tracking them until they are finalized
- Assist with developing and maintaining project schedules
Education/Training/Certification:
- 3-5 years experience estimating Utilities for the construction industry (Preferred)
- BS Degree in Design/Civil Engineering/Construction Management (Preferred)
- Trenching and Shoring Competent Person (Preferred)
- First Aid/CPR (Preferred)
- Experience with Heavy Bid (or similar software) - preferred
- Experience with Planswift (or similar software) - preferred
- Experience with Microsoft Project (or similar software) - preferred
