- Prepare and sell proposals for aggregate piers, support of excavation, and deep foundations.
- Maintain a safe approach to completing work and adhering to the company safety plan.
- Propose safe, constructable, profitable solutions for support of excavation and deep foundation opportunities presented by our customers.
- Approach each opportunity with creativity and an attitude expecting success.
- Develop and budget workable solutions to project-specific challenges.
- Identify and plan for probable issues related to each project.
- Work with our design engineers to develop creative solutions and solve challenging issues.
- Pre-bid job site reconnaissance, as needed.
- Preparation and submission of proposals and attend post-bid interviews.
- Serve as the liaison between the client’s project team and SCC’s operations team.
- Manage your work and personal schedule effectively.
- Maintain 30%-win rate at minimum GP/week budget goal.
- Maintain company win rate and bid profit margin goals.
- Contribute proportionally to the annual bid volume goal.
- Prepare and execute a thorough handoff of successful bids to our operations team.
- Utilize and contribute to the improvement of interdepartmental project handoff processes.
- Aggressively follow up on submitted proposals through the pending process in efforts to promote SCC’s likelihood of award.
- Manage post-bid changes and updates before handoff.
- Develop backup for change order pricing.
- Participate in project progress meetings, as needed.
- Ensure timely and regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned within the scope of employment.
What You Must Bring
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Heavy Civil Construction or Geotechnical Construction.
- BS degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong project management experience in general construction, drilling, anchors, micropiles , earth retention, grouting, ground improvement, and excavation.
- Solid understanding of all project contractual requirements and proven experience working effectively as a liaison with Engineers, General Contractors, and Owners.
- In-depth understanding of engineering principles that govern the design of earth retention, ground improvement, and deep foundation systems.
- Excellent computer skills with proficiency using Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and Salesforce, typical artificial intelligence models.
- Strong, professional written & verbal communication skills are required.
- Day travel and occasional overnight travel required.
