Duties
- Assist in planning menus that cater to various dietary requirements while maintaining nutritional standards
- Prepare and cook meals efficiently, ensuring high-quality food presentation and taste
- Handle food safely by following proper hygiene practices, including correct storage, temperature control, and sanitation procedures
- Serve meals to residents or customers with professionalism and friendly service
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food and managing timely delivery
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness by cleaning utensils, equipment, and work areas regularly
- Follow all food industry regulations and safety protocols to ensure compliance and prevent contamination
Skills
- Experience working in dietary departments or as a dietary aide with knowledge of meal planning and food preparation
- Strong culinary skills including knife techniques, cooking methods, and meal assembly
- Proven ability to handle food safely in accordance with food safety standards
- Excellent food handling, serving, and catering experience in restaurant or food service environments
- Knowledge of kitchen operations, including food industry best practices and kitchen equipment use
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with team members and assisting customers or residents
