Teach Sailing at Camp on the Chesapeake Bay This Summer!
Sandy Hill Camp and Retreat Center in North East, Maryland is looking for sailing instructors to join our 2026 summer staff and teach sailing to campers ages 8–16. What You'll Do:
- Teach daily sailing classes for campers of varying skill levels (ages 8–16) on Laser Picos and American 14.6 sailboats — rigging, basic maneuvers, safety, and water awareness
- Ensure a safe, fun environment on and off the water
- Participate in broader camp life including meals, evening programs, and cabin supervision (residential staff)
What We're Looking For:
- Sailing experience and ability to teach beginners (experience with small dinghies a plus)
- Must be able to pass a lifeguard certification course (offered on-site at no charge)
- Genuine enjoyment of working with kids and teens
- Must be 18 (or 17 high school graduate)
Available as a residential position (live on-site Sunday–Friday, free room and board, most weekends off) or day-only for local candidates. Most staff work early June through mid-August. Sandy Hill is a smoke-free, drug-free, and values-centered environment.

Pay: $2,100.00 - $2,300.00 per month
