STARTING SALARY: $63,772 - $79,716/annually, depending on experience
SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Budget Services & Business Intelligence Director, performs various projects in a team environment relating to business intelligence (BI), budget, and finance, to enhance City staff’s ability to make data-driven decisions. Assists the Budget Services & Business Intelligence Director and Administrative Services Director in his/her assigned duties.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in data science, MIS, statistics, data analytics, quantitative analysis, finance, economics, business, political science, public administration, or related field. Some related work experience; may substitute an equivalent combination of education and experience. A one-year probationary period is a prerequisite to this position. Knowledge of BI software, preferably Microsoft Power BI; computer software including Microsoft Office Suite; relational databases and Microsoft SQL programming language; APIs preferred, experimental design, statistical analysis techniques, and prescriptive analytics preferred; R and/or Python programming language preferred; application of theories/organizational management to a governmental entity preferred. Great responsibility for the care, condition, and use of materials, equipment, tools, etc. Ability to professionally provide and obtain information to/from other departments; regular and frequent outside contact with persons of high rank, requiring tact and judgment; requires well developed sense of strategy and timing; frequent contacts involving the carrying out of programs and schedules; influencing of others to obtain the desired results; must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
