What are the responsibilities and job description for the Volunteer Tutor position at Sandhills Community College?
The tutor's goal is to empower, enable, encourage, and assist students in a specific subject, investigate and determine areas of weakness, and develop/share supportive strategies with the student. The tutor will maintain clear and concise records of each meeting and complete and submit an accurate and detailed report each month.
- Essential Functions
- Assisting students in understanding concepts.
- Addressing areas of concern.
- Focusing students on the task at hand.
- Maintaining records of each meeting, and completing accurate monthly reports.
- Other duties may be assigned as deemed appropriate and/or necessary by the Tutoring Center Coordinator.
- Qualifications
- Good communication skills.
- Ablity to work effectively with others.
- Successful completion of course or similar coursework.
