What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Instructor position at Sandhills Community College?
The Electrical Instructor will train the next generation of electricians and will report to the Senior Director of Career Training.
Qualifications
- Provides Electrical instruction utilizing curriculum provided by NCCER.
- Maintains attendance, grades, and performance records.
- Sets up and proctors online testing.
- Prepares instruction using a variety of teaching techniques and mediums.
- Monitoring electrical supply inventory and notifying administrative staff of purchasing needs.
- Maintaining a safe and clean electrical shop space.
- Familiarizes themselves with the Continuing Education Instructor Guide.
- Meets with Director periodically to discuss class schedules, course outline, student progress, special needs, and required materials such as texts and disks.
- Returns completed roster to director at end of class with signatures from students and instructor.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as an Electrician.
- Must be willing to attend NCCER instructor qualification training (successful completion of qualification required prior to being assigned as instructor)
- Knowledge and understanding of Electrical Safety and the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Knowledge of Residential, Commercial, and/or Industrial standards and best practices
- Computer experience required and teaching experience a plus.
- NCCER certified trainer preferred but not required.
Salary : $35 - $37
