General Purpose:
As a Laundry Attendant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and comfort for our guests by ensuring that all linens, towels, and other fabrics are properly cleaned and stored. This behind-the-scenes role is essential to creating a seamless guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate laundering machines to clean linens, towels, blankets, pillowcases, and other articles.
- Load washers with proper amounts of detergents and cleaning agents.
- Operate machines to wash and rinse articles, then transfer clean items to dryers.
- Sort and organize dried items according to identification numbers or types.
- Fold and neatly store cleaned items in the appropriate storage areas.
- Mend torn articles when necessary.
- Count and verify quantities of articles on laundry lists to ensure accuracy.
- Assist with other duties as needed to support the laundry operations.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Experience: 1-3 months of related experience is preferred, but not required. We provide training to help you succeed!
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to read, write, and understand the primary language used in the workplace.
- Basic problem-solving skills, including the ability to follow written, oral, or diagram instructions.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stretch for extended periods of time.
- Capable of lifting items up to 25 lbs. and pushing/pulling carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
- Must have the stamina to remain on your feet for up to 5 hours.
- Ability to work both indoors and outdoors, depending on operational needs.
- Manual dexterity for handling laundry equipment and folding articles.
- Strong vision and depth perception for sorting and inspecting linens.
