Job Summary
Hotel Effie, Autograph Collection, is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Assistant Food & Beverage Manager to join our dynamic team. This role assists in overseeing the daily operations of our food and beverage outlets, ensuring a seamless guest experience and exceptional service in our luxurious setting. The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the Food & Beverage Manager with staff training, scheduling, inventory control, and maintaining high standards of quality and service.
This is a hands-on role that requires leadership, a passion for hospitality, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in managing day-to-day operations of all food and beverage outlets, including the restaurant, bar, in-room dining, and banquets.
- Supervise, train, and motivate team members to provide exceptional service.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Support staff scheduling, payroll, and time management processes to ensure optimal coverage.
- Oversee inventory control and assist with ordering supplies while adhering to budget guidelines.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to maintain menu quality and presentation.
- Resolve guest complaints and ensure all concerns are handled promptly and professionally.
- Lead pre-shift meetings to communicate daily objectives and foster team alignment.
- Assist in planning and executing special events and promotions.
- Conduct regular inspections of the dining areas to ensure cleanliness and functionality.
- Uphold brand standards and maintain a focus on delivering personalized guest experiences.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food and beverage management or supervisory roles required.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
- Knowledge of food and beverage trends, wine, and mixology is a plus.
- Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Bachelor’s degree in hospitality, business, or a related field is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours per shift).
- Must be able to lift, carry, and move items up to 50 pounds (e.g., kegs, trays, and furniture).
- Perform frequent bending, stooping, and reaching to assist with operations and storage needs.
- Ability to navigate stairs and work in both indoor and outdoor environments.
