Position Summary
The Assistant Food & Beverage Manager supports the daily operations of Ovide Fine Dining Restaurant and assists in delivering exceptional guest experiences consistent with luxury hospitality standards. This role partners with the F&B leadership team to oversee service quality, staff performance, guest satisfaction, and operational efficiency while maintaining compliance with hotel and restaurant policies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist in managing daily restaurant operations, including breakfast, dinner, private dining, and special events.
- Supervise and support front-of-house staff, including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support team members.
- Ensure all guests receive professional, attentive, and personalized service.
- Monitor dining room appearance, cleanliness, and ambiance to maintain fine dining standards.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance evaluations of team members.
- Help create staff schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels for business demands.
- Address guest concerns and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
- Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and timing in coordination with culinary leadership.
- Support inventory management, ordering, and cost-control procedures.
- Ensure compliance with health, sanitation, alcohol service, and safety regulations.
- Assist in implementing promotions, wine dinners, seasonal menus, and special events.
- Maintain knowledge of menu items, wine pairings, and upscale dining service techniques.
- Prepare operational reports and assist with achieving departmental financial goals.

Qualifications
- Minimum 2–3 years of restaurant or hospitality supervisory experience preferred.
- Fine dining or luxury hotel experience strongly preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and guest service skills.
- Knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and upscale dining etiquette.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Proficient in POS systems, Microsoft Office, and restaurant management practices.
- Food safety and alcohol service certifications preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, often up to 8–10 hours per shift.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 30 pounds regularly.
