IT Support Specialist

We are hiring an experienced IT Support Specialist to provide high-level technical support to end users and assist with intermediate network troubleshooting. This position functions as a primary escalation point for complex technical issues, ensuring efficient resolution while delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a solid foundation in networking, and experience supporting enterprise environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Serve as the escalation point for Tier 1 and Tier 2 support issues related to Windows, Office 365, and proprietary software. 
• Set up and configure workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and peripherals equipment for new and existing staff 
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, and system issues. 
• Provide advanced user support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and applications. 
• Troubleshoot intermediate network issues (LAN/WAN, VPN, DNS, DHCP, routing basics). 
• Support and maintain Active Directory, user accounts, group policies, and permissions. 
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues. 
• Assist in maintaining and supporting servers, cloud services, and infrastructure. 
• Document issues, solutions, and processes in the knowledge base. 
• Collaborate with network and systems teams on larger incidents and projects. 
• Deploy security patches, manage firewalls, and maintain data backup and disaster recovery protocols to protect digital assets 
• Participate in on-call rotation or after-hours support as needed. 
• Act as primary contact for ISPs and hardware vendors for repairs, upgrades, and contract negotiations 

Education: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Associate’s degree in IT or similar background preferred but not required. 
• Microsoft Certification preferred but not required. 
• CompTIA A , Network , preferred but not required.

Qualifications: 

• 3–5 years of IT support experience, including Tier 2/3 support. 
• Strong knowledge of Windows and/or macOS environments. 
• Experience with Active Directory, Office 365, and user account management. 
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN). 
• Experience with ticketing systems and remote support tools. 
• Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills. 
• Strong communication and customer service skills. 

Physical Requirements: 

• Employees are frequently required to stand. 
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk. 
• This position is somewhat sedentary; therefore, employee is required to sit 
• Frequently will need to bend, stoop, and squat 
• Frequent lifting and/or moving 10 - 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 35 pounds. 
• Required to reach with hands and arms to handle documents and products. 
• Must be able to enter data into a computer by use of a keyboard and mouse and be able to sit for long periods at his/her desk as well as occasionally visit employees throughout the building to gather data and clarify information.
