Summary: Rubbercraft Corporation seeks a highly technical and experienced Director of Product and Process Engineering & Development to lead our Product Design and Development team. This role is pivotal in ensuring generation of new cutting-edge processes, products and materials are developed to meet or exceed and anticipate customer and industry expectations. The Director will oversee a team of engineers that generate and support Business Development to WIN new Business Opportunities and collaborate closely with Operations, Configuration Engineering, Program Management and NPI to drive initiatives to outperform New Product Development First Time Bookings, new opportunities generation and delivery of secured revenue of new product development to contribute to outperform EBITDA targets. Development and generation of intellectual Property in the form of trade secrets or patents of new products, materials and processes. Develop new products, materials and processes to support First Time Bookings and New Business Opportunity Generation. Become a subject matter expert in Product and Process Technology at Rubbercraft. Open to teaching, mentoring, and spreading knowledge across the organization. Promote the use of Edge (Sales Force) within the teams to support Product Development in New Business Opportunities and First time Bookings. Meet with Customer Engineering and Desing teams to develop customer solutions while utilizing Rubbercraft's IP to support customer needs. Lead and mentor a team of engineers to support growth initiatives. Oversee engineers’ day-to-day support operations as required. Including fixture design, and structured problem-solving.Support the VP of Engineering in the development of a roadmap aimed at increasing Rubbercraft brand value via IP and trade secrets generation. Write and interpret Critical Design Reviews (CDRs). Mentor and train engineers to write CDRs for advanced rubber and silicone products for space, aviation, and energy applications.Interpret and utilize data from engineering analysis to provide technically sound recommendations and decisions.Develop and implement policies and procedures for Product and Process Development.Ensure timely and effective resolution of technical aspects when supporting Business Development.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop new products, materials, and processes.Develop and implement initiatives to reduce scrap, enhance processes, and improve molding tools.Work with Manufacturing Engineering to analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost reductions.Work with NPI to ensure that processes and tools are industrialization-ready for seamless integration into the production floor.Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering and NPI teams to ensure the manufacturability of new products.Work with NPI to oversee the transition of new products from development to full-scale production.Lead tool design and process design.Support technical sales and technical discussions with other departments and customers.Participate in bid/no-bid meetings. Lead QQF process. Typical qualifications would be: Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 15 years of experience in aerospace manufacturing and design engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Minimum of 5 years of experience in aerospace rubber molding experience designing molding tools and improving vulcanization and de-flashing / trimming processes Minimum of 5 years of experience in advance GD&T for molding tools and rubber products Minimum of 3 years of experience designing engineering testing and qualification procedures. Minimum of 3 years of experience developing CDRsMinimum of 3 years of experience technical discussion and presentation to OEM engineering teams whiting the Aerospace and Defense industry.Strong knowledge of rubber molding manufacturing processes, cost-saving strategies VAVE, and best in class process design for new product introduction.Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions.Proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written skills in the English languageExcellent abilities utilizing CAD applications for tool and product design Strong leadership skills to mentor, provide feedback and assess performance across the teamProven ability to make timely and sound decisions; able to make decisions under conditions of uncertainty.Proven negotiation, facilitation, and consensus building skills.Proven ability to analyze data in excel and review, modify PowerPoint presentations for executive leadership and customers.
