Sandalwood Management, dynamic property management firm is seeking an enthusiastic and resourceful Property Accountant to join our fast-growing team. This position, reporting to the Accounting Manager, will oversee the AR & GL functions for a portfolio of multifamily properties.
Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Verify accuracy of lease data and accounting data entered in YARDI (property management software)
- Review delinquency reports and work with managers to maximize collections.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Post month-end close journal entries
- Ensure company adherence to policies and procedures for consistent processing.
- Provide insight on property performance in month end reviews.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- BA or BS degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
- 1 to 2 years of corporate accounting experience
- Experience with residential property management preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel.
- Experience with property management software applications, preferred (Yardi)
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multitask.
- Team-oriented attitude
- Ability to meet deadlines and work in a high volume fast paced environment.
- Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
