POSITION SUMMARY
At San Pedro Fish Market, a Server is expected to create a fun and enjoyable dining experience for each and every
guest by providing timely and friendly service, and striving to exceed guest expectations. All position responsibilities
must be performed in accordance with city, state, federal and Company policy.
Compliance and Service:
• Provide guests with excellent service, offering your assistance whenever necessary.
• Maintain extensive knowledge of menu items, ingredients, plate presentation, specials and menu
changes.
• Make food and beverage recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy.
• Enter accurate food and beverage orders into the point-of-sale system.
• Observe guest dining experience ensuring guests are satisfied and respond promptly and graciously
to requests.
• Prepare final guest check and collect payment; process credit card charges or make correct change.
• Share the culture of Celebrating Food & Family with guests by learning the history and culture of the
business.
• Adapt to changing guest volume levels with a sense of urgency.
• Maintain clean services areas.
• Assist other servers, bussers and bartenders when necessary.
• Perform opening, closing and side work ensuring that the opening and closing checklists are
accurately and efficiently completed.
• Promptly address guest service issues and refer guests to management when necessary.
• Comply with all city, state, federal and Company food and beverage regulations, alcohol control
policies, sanitation and safety policies. Promptly report violations or concerns to management.
Follow city, state, federal, and Company guidelines for serving alcoholic beverages, without fail. Ask
patrons for identification to validate age, and be vigilant about reporting (known or suspected)
invalid ID’s to management. Do not serve anyone who cannot provide valid identification. Diligently
watch for underage drinking. Do not overserve any guest. Immediately notify management if you
have concerns about enforcing these regulations, if a guest is overly intoxicated, or any other issues.

Qualifications:MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of casual dining experience as a server, host or busser.
• Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred.
• Current Food Handler’s Card and LEAD Card.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
• Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with others.
• Must be legally eligible to serve alcohol.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, holidays and overtime.
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English.
• Ability to read, interpret, and understand an extensive variety of work-related instructions and
documents pertaining to Company operations, safety, finance, HR, and payroll.
• Basic math skills and the ability to manage cash, process credit cards, and work the cash register.
• Basic computer skills, including Internet use, E-mail, and typing skills.
• Ability to use the Company’s timekeeping system and point of service system.
• Ability and willingness to learn and apply new work skill sets and concepts.
• Working knowledge of city, state, and federal hospitality laws and regulations.
Salary : $17 - $18
