Requirements / Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: CA Teaching Credential with ESL Authorization or in the process of securing the credential CA. Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential Experience with multi-level ESL and students of differing cultural backgrounds and learning styles preferred. Valid CA Teaching Credential. Designated Subjects Adult Education Teaching Credential w/Elementary and Secondary Basic Skills (ESBS) authorization, OR Multiple Subject Credential w/Math authorization OR Single Subject Credential with Math authorization. ESSETIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: • Responsible for teaching basic skills to students with varying academic levels while integrating GED skills, reading and math skills, social justice and community issues, and culture. • Helps students meet necessary goals and qualify to successfully complete all sections of their GED. Prepares students to take the GED *Spanish exam. • Develop and present lesson plans. Prepare a course outline and syllabus stating the class goals, course content, classroom policies and procedures and methods of evaluation. • Use a variety of instructional techniques and materials including online resources that are appropriate to the course and accommodate all learning styles. • Maintain current and accurate records of student attendance. • Participate in required, Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings
