POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the general supervision of the Director of Med/Surg and Case Management, the RN Case Manager & Social Services Supervisor manages/assists with monitoring performance standards, productivity and ensuring staff coverage to meet the needs of the department. The RN Case Manager & Social Services Supervisor assists in managing the clinical resource utilization and documentation affecting reimbursement. In this position the RN Case Manager & Social Services Supervisor will provide identification of inefficiencies in resource utilization, and act as a resource to staff and physicians of San Gorgonio Memorial Hospital in documentation for effective reimbursement.
The RN Case Manager & Social Services Supervisor will be required to consistently demonstrate effective communication skills and the ability to successfully interact with Case Management and Social Services staff, patients, and families and to form collaborative relationships with staff, physicians, and outside payors representatives.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Education:
- ADN/BSN in Nursing. BSN preferred.
- Licensure:
- Current CA RN License.
- Current BLS Certification.
- Experience:
- 3 years minimum clinical experience.
- Prefer 1-2 years’ experience in Utilization Review or Case Management.
- Knowledge and experience with Medi-Cal.
- Knowledge and experience with InterQual (CERME) or other national standard.
Other Skills:
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills and ability to speak concisely to patients and care team members.
- Demonstrates an attitude of co-operation and professionalism.
- Computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical thinking and the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Able to work in, manage and deal with stressful situations.
