We are seeking a Recreation Director to join our team at Petaluma KOA. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and executing recreational activities for our guests, while managing a team of up to 10 staff members and ensuring a fun, organized, and high-energy environment.
WEEKEND AND HOLIDAY AVAILABILITY IS REQUIRED.
Responsibilities:
- Execute recreational programs for guests, including activities for children, adults, and families
- Purchase materials for weekend activities such as arts and crafts, ice cream, food, and other supplies
- Schedule and manage a team of up to 10 staff members (primarily high school students)
- Plan and organize daily activities and events, ensuring smooth execution
- Maintain inventory of recreational equipment and supplies
- Respond to and resolve any issues during activities to ensure guest satisfaction and staff support
- Multitask and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines and operational needs
- Develop and introduce new activities based on trends and guest feedback
- Create a fun, welcoming, and engaging atmosphere for guests
- Work weekends and holidays as needed
- Manage and entertain up to 2,000 guests on property at a time
- Communicate efficiently with guests, staff, and management
- Capture content and promote activities through social media, including taking photos/videos, staying on top of trends, and creating engaging posts
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two years’ experience in recreation, hospitality, or a related field
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage a team of up to 10 people
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Enjoy working with kids and families
- Availability to work weekends and holidays
- Fun, outgoing, and personable personality
- Comfortable engaging large groups of guests (up to 2,000 on property)
- Proficiency with social media platforms, content creation, and basic photo/video editing
- Proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Dropbox, and general computer skills
- Ability to purchase and manage supplies for activities
Please note that our Summer Recreation Program runs from May through end of October. We also offer the opportunity for Recreation staff to transition into front office roles during the winter season, depending on qualifications and performance.
