The Position
The Senior Director of Retail Operations is responsible for the strategic leadership, performance, and continuous improvement of the credit union’s retail delivery network, including oversight of approximately 7–10 branch locations. This role leads branch operations, sales performance, and member service delivery, ensuring a consistent, high-quality experience across all locations. The position drives growth, operational excellence, and member satisfaction while maintaining strong regulatory compliance and alignment with the credit union’s mission and values.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy:
- Develop and execute retail operations strategies that support organizational goals, growth, efficiency, and member experience.
- Lead, mentor and develop branch managers, ensuring strong leadership at each location.
- Foster a high performing, member-centric culture across all retail locations.
- Mange and optimize daily operations across branches.
- Ensure compliance with all banking regulations and internal policies.
- Develop, implement, and modify retail delivery procedures to ensure efficient member service and manage risk effectively.
- Lead retail operational readiness for new systems, processes, and product launches.
- Proactively identify training needs and skill gaps across retail functions
- Partner with internal training teams to support the implementation of targeted development initiatives that enhance team performance and service quality.
- Create and monitor branch performance metrics and implement strategies for improvement.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to ensure operational efficiency.
- Champion initiatives and process improvements to enhance member service and satisfaction.
- Ensures high quality service and sales practices which promote member satisfaction, retention and expansion.
Requirements, Skills, And Abilities
- 8 years of progressive experience in retail banking or credit union operations.
- 5 years of leadership experience managing multi-branch networks, ideally within a 5-10 branch span of control.
- Strong knowledge of banking regulations and compliance standards.
- Ability to be well organized, team-player, motivated and flexible with working hours, able to work Saturdays, holidays and overtime as needed, maintaining attendance and punctuality.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Proven leadership and team-building skills.
