Essential Responsibilities
- Vocational Training: Provide on-the-job coaching to help clients learn specific tasks, workplace social skills, and professional etiquette.
- Job Development: Assist clients in identifying career interests, searching for jobs, and preparing for interviews.
- Task Analysis: Break down complex job duties into manageable steps (task analysis) to facilitate client learning and independence.
- Employer Liaison: Build and maintain positive relationships with local business owners and managers to ensure the client's needs and employer's expectations are met.
- Fading Support: Gradually reduce direct supervision as the client gains proficiency, fostering independence while remaining available for "re-training" as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate daily progress notes, track vocational goals according to the Individual Program Plan (IPP).
- Travel Training: Assist clients in navigating public transportation or finding reliable routes to their workplace.
- Communicate professionally with supervisors and team members
- Maintain confidentiality and uphold client rights at all times
Minimum Requirements:
- 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED
- Ability to pass DOJ/FBI Live Scan background clearance
- Valid California driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of insurance (if driving is required)
- Proficiency using smartphones or tablets for real-time documentation and scheduling.
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional
- Experience as a DSP, caregiver, behavioral aide, or in-home support provider
- At least 1 year of experience working with individuals with IDD or in a vocational coaching/teaching capacity.
- Bilingual a plus
- $21.00 – $23.00 per hour (based on experience)

- This role is community-based; you will work at various job sites (retail, offices, warehouses, etc.) alongside the client.
- May include evenings, weekends, or holiday shifts depending on client needs
- Requires the ability to stand, walk, and demonstrate physical tasks alongside the client for 4–8 hours a day.
