This position is not eligible for benefits.
The Substitute Village Leader position seeks a combination of education, training, and experience equivalent to completion of college-level coursework in the natural sciences, recreation, education, or closely related field and preferably two (2) years of experience in an outdoor education program with school-age children. This position requires knowledge of current natural science and environmental education concepts, and the organization and operations of an Outdoor Education program. The following certificates are also required at time of hire: Valid California Driver’s License American Red Cross CPR and First Aid/AED Certificate

It is important to note to become a substitute/limited-term employee, there will be a fingerprinting requirement that currently costs $77 (this is an up-front, out-of-pocket cost that must be paid in the form of a money order or cashier’s check). In addition, if you apply and are selected for a permanent position at any point there would be an additional $77 cost (currently) for fingerprinting as a permanent employee (taken out of your first regular paycheck).
