Position Summary
The position of Financial Analyst II is to perform complex analyses and provide financial reporting as needed by the various departments within the organization; perform cost/benefit analysis and peer group reporting; and assist with preparation of annual budget. Leads meetings to interpret metrics and advise on trends; train and mentor others as appropriate. Maintain exceptional service standards set by the organization.

- BS Degree with emphasis in Accounting, Finance, Economic, General Business or equivalent.
- Minimum of three years of related experience in financial analysis/accounting.
- Advanced Excel software skills required.
- SQL working knowledge highly preferred.
- Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to recognize patterns and outliers.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong process improvement, critical thinking, and analysis skills.
- Ability to understand logical connections between ideas and solve problems systematically.
- Sound decision-making and judgment in all work situations.
- Effective organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize and coordinate projects successfully.
- Prepare monthly internal financial performance reports.
- Review trending on reports and make recommendations.
- Understand complex processes in order to assist with product development and project analyses by designing analytical and modeling methods to evaluate proposals and make data-driven decisions.
- When creating new analyses, discretion and sound judgment are required since each analysis has its unique characteristics and will need to be altered as appropriate.
- Collaborate frequently with business owners to understand reporting requirements, make appropriate recommendations and implement the reporting.
- Complete complex ad-hoc reports and financial models with little direction from supervisor.
- Use judgment and critical thinking when completing all reporting in order to recognize changes in data sources, variation in the process, fluctuations in trends and understand the potential impact on results.
- Effectively prepare information for external third parties such as auditors, examiners, and consultants as applicable.
- Assist in the fulfillment of complex and long term projects from planning through implementation, as requested.
- Participate in the preparation of annual budget including compilation of information from various cost centers and income statement forecasts; and assemble budget as needed.
- Prepare and update credit union peer-group related financial reports. Assimilate and submit financial data to consultant groups for peer reporting.
- Assist other departments within the organization with process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare and update all internal procedure documentation related to assigned areas of responsibility. Provide recommendations on process improvements and quality controls.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
