APPLICATION SUPPORT MANAGER

Essential Job Functions

• Understands standard project management processes
• Participates in the design, management, and strategic planning for long-term department operations.
• Provides advisement to technical staff concerning priorities and initiatives within Public Safety.
• Provides for consultation with senior management concerning current and projected information management and automation services needs within Public Safety.
• Provides advisement to staff under charge concerning customer service requests, end user issues, technology applications, automation related policies and procedures, and internal staff issues.
• Participates in the review and recommendation concerning all aspects of the County’s information services needs.
• Develops and maintains effective external vendor relationships and vendor services contracts; provides advisement in construction of RFI/RFP’s and IS consultant contracts.
• Performs personnel management functions.
• Performs research involving independent judgment and initiative for the purpose of resolving or addressing operational matters applicable to Public Safety Support.
• Maintains current knowledge of trends and developments in the field of state-of-the-art information technologies and services for application to Public Safety functions.
• Will perform project management duties as required
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Technology, Computer Science or related field
• Seven years progressively knowledgeable and skilled experience in client services, three of which shall have been acquired in a supervisory capacity
• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Physical Demands: While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is frequently required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and lift and/or move up to 10 to 20 pounds.

Grade: 60

Schedule: 40 Hours Per Week
