Duties
- Design and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy education, math skills, physical activity, and social-emotional development.
- Create a nurturing environment that supports childhood development through engaging activities aligned with curriculum standards such as Montessori or other early childhood frameworks.
- Manage classroom behavior using effective behavior management techniques to foster respect, cooperation, and positive interactions among children.
- Monitor and document each child's progress, adhering to mandated reporting laws and maintaining accurate records of developmental milestones.
- Collaborate with parents and guardians to communicate children's progress, address concerns, and support ongoing learning at home.
- Incorporate special education strategies and early intervention techniques to support children with diverse learning needs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation, supervision protocols, and emergency procedures.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in daycare, preschool, or private school settings is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, curriculum development, classroom management, and teaching physical education.
- Experience with toddler care, preschool teaching, literacy education, standardized testing preparation, and tutoring is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with special education practices, early intervention programs, Montessori methods or other educational philosophies is preferred.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners.
- Proven ability to plan lessons that incorporate child welfare standards while fostering creativity and independence in learners.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields will be considered an asset.
