Position Summary
The Senior Logistics Specialist is responsible for analyzing, improving, and coordination logistics operations to ensure efficient, compliant, and cost-effective supply chain performance. This role exercises independent judgment in resolving operational issues, leading process improvement initiatives, and supporting management decision-making through data-driven analysis.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze inbound, outbound, inventory, and transportation operations to identify inefficiencies and improvement opportunities
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, productivity, and cost performance
- Lead and support process improvement initiatives, including the development, implementation, and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Serve as a primary point of contact for operational issues, coordinating with internal teams, customers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective and preventive actions for service failures, delays, damages, or inventory discrepancies
- Support management decision-making by providing operational analysis, reports, and recommendations
- Ensure compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, and customer requirements (e.g., OSHA, DOT, customer standards)
- Participate in or lead projects related to system enhancements, new customer onboarding, process optimization, or network changes
- Provide guidance and functional support to junior staff and associates without direct supervisory responsibility
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
- 7-10 years of experience in logistics, warehouse, or supply chain operations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to exercise independent judgment
- Experience working with WMS/TMS systems and operational data
Preferred Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools
- Strong cross-functional communication and coordination skills
- Experience developing and implementing SOPs and process improvements
- Knowledge of logistics compliance and safety regulations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
