Our transportation team plays a critical role in supporting our operations and ensuring that customers receive their orders safely and on time. We are seeking a dedicated Transportation Supervisor / Dispatcher to help lead and coordinate our fast-paced delivery operations.
Role Overview
As a Transportation Supervisor / Dispatcher, you will oversee daily routing, driver coordination, and transportation logistics. You’ll work closely with drivers, sales, operations, and logistics leadership to ensure efficient, compliant, and customer-focused delivery execution. This role is essential to maintaining smooth day-to-day operations and supporting company-wide service standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Route all trucks and generate the Daily Driver Schedule
- Coordinate staffing levels to meet workload demands and ensure coverage
- Communicate with sales, operations, shipping, office management, and the yard team to support timely loading and dispatch
- Monitor driver logs, uniforms, attendance, and compliance with company policies and DOT regulations
- Utilize GPS systems, enter orders, and process invoices using the Unix system
- Handle customer inquiries regarding deliveries, ETAs, and service concerns
- Conduct driver audits and review post-route documentation
- Prepare Route Analysis and Truck Load Analysis to improve efficiency
- Recommend operational improvements and support a professional, safety-focused work environment
- Perform additional operational duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Good communication and computer skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational ability
- Prior dispatching experience (East Coast region preferred)
- Driving experience a plus (van, sprinter, Class B, Class A)
- Experience working in a union environment preferred
- Knowledge of DOT rules and regulations
- High School Diploma required
- Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs and work in cold storage, warehouse, and outdoor environments
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound judgment
Work Schedule
1:00 AM – 11:00 AM, Tuesday–Saturday
Business needs may require occasional schedule adjustments, holiday work, or extended hours.
