What are the responsibilities and job description for the NDT Level II Inspector position at Samuel, Son & Co.?
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:
LEAD:
- NDT inspections (RT, VT, MT, PT, etc.)
- Develop and lead an in-house RT program
- Perform review and interpret radiographic images and reports
- Notify supervisors and other personnel of quality problem(s), and assist in identifying and correcting those concerns
- Train, coach and mentor assistants, technicians and trainers in quality workmanship and best practices
- Verify and support safety requirements compliance
- Radiation Safety Compliance
COORDINATE:
- RT Inspections to ensure safety is prioritized and efficiencies are identified
- Team growth and training
- Maintain and improve product quality by collaborating with other team members to develop new process designs, manufacturing, and training methods
SUPPORT:
- Maintain NDT personnel certifications & associated documentation
- Assist with review of contract requirements and vendor/contractor requirements
- Collecting and compiling relevant quality statistical data
- Assist with inspection activities as needed
- Assist with training needs, including leading or co-facilitating training classes as needed, regarding quality procedures and processes
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certifications: RT, PT, VT, UT & MT; IRRSP
- Radiation Safety Training & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred, or a minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Level II.
- Strong background in inspection, equipment, and techniques
- Must be able to pass a GSEC background check.
- Understands value of time and materials.
- Effective problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to walk or stand for long periods, lift to 50 pounds, stoop, climb, and use ladders to perform various inspection tasks and studies.
- Handling and moving objects- Using hands and arms in handling, positioning, and moving materials
- Must be able to stand, squat, bend, crawl, reach
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing environment: May be exposed to loud noises, changing temperatures, machinery with moving parts, and exotic materials.
