What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Samuel, Son & Co.?
- Delivers correct and properly documented materials needed for work orders to workers in a timely manner, charging material to correct work order.
- Loads and unloads trucks, inspecting raw materials correctly marking them as to type and grade, and properly transporting and storing the inventoried items.
- Fills out proper documentation for all transactions.
- Checks delivery papers and delivered materials for accuracy, forwards papers to his/her receiving/shipping personnel and/or supervisor.
- Returns correctly marked unused materials to proper storage area.
- Communicate report of received and transported/staged material. Helps prepare receiving report.
- Coordinate with others, including other manufacturing and procurement/materials personnel.
- Support Shipping and Receiving clerks with materials movement.
- Ability to perform receiving documentation tasks in computer system.
- Ability to perform shipping documentation tasks in computer system.
- Must be able to work with basic hand tools (both power and manual) to include tape measures, calipers, micrometer, thread gauges, and other test measurement equipment as needed.
- Must be able to understand blueprints/drawings.
- Keeps yard clean and organized.
- Assists in periodic and annual physical inventories.
- Perform other duties as required.
