Duties
- Install new garage doors, including framing, door hanging, and fixture installation using hand tools, power tools, and blueprint schematics
- Perform repairs on malfunctioning garage doors, including replacing broken springs, cables, rollers, and hardware components
- Conduct routine maintenance to ensure optimal operation of garage door systems
- Use welding and fabrication skills to modify or customize door components as needed
- Read and interpret technical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawings for accurate installation and repairs
- Execute heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or heavy door sections or equipment
- Apply locksmithing techniques for lock replacement or security upgrades on garage doors
- Utilize electrical experience to troubleshoot and repair motorized garage door openers and wiring issues
- Assist with construction site projects involving metal stud framing, remodeling, or carpentry related to garage structures
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes while maintaining a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Proven experience with glass installation, metal fabrication, or construction site work preferred
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry techniques
- Ability to read schematics and blueprints accurately for precise project execution
- Strong mechanical knowledge related to garage door systems and electrical components
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work at heights or in confined spaces safely
- Experience with fixture installation, trim carpentry, caulking, cabinet installation or locksmithing is a plus
- Prior experience in remodeling or handyman roles enhances your versatility on the job site
- Knowledge of electrical systems relevant to motorized garage doors is advantageous
