Agency: Sampson & Associates, Inc. (American Family Insurance Agency)
Reports To: Agency Owner
Compensation
- Base Salary: $30,000–$60,000 (based on experience and qualifications)
- Commission: commission structure in addition to base salary
- Expected Annual Earnings: $60,000–$100,000 (base commission; performance-based)
About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated Sales Specialist to help grow our agency by identifying customer needs, recommending appropriate insurance solutions, and delivering an excellent customer experience. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys relationship-based selling, follow-up, and working toward clear performance goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Prospect for new business through calls, referrals, networking, and lead follow-up
- Conduct needs-based conversations and recommend appropriate coverage options
- Quote, present, and close Personal Lines products (and other lines as applicable)
- Cross-sell and round accounts to improve customer protection and retention
- Manage pipeline activities and document interactions in agency systems/CRM
- Support policy lifecycle service needs (as applicable): changes, renewals, billing questions, etc.
- Maintain required licensing and stay current on product and underwriting guidelines
- Meet activity and sales goals (calls, quotes, apps written, premium targets, etc.)
Qualifications
- Sales experience preferred (insurance, banking, retail, or consultative sales a plus)
- Strong communication skills and comfort speaking with customers by phone and in person
- Coachable, goal-oriented, and able to manage daily activity targets
- Strong organizational skills and follow-through
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Licensing Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain Property & Casualty insurance license (and other licenses as needed/required).
