POSITION SUMMARY
The Controls Tech II is responsible for supporting the installation of controls automation systems for conveyor systems to ensure project efficiency. Ensures all SWS standards are adhered to and executed consistent with company direction.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Assist lead installers in the accurate installation, testing, and maintenance of electrical control systems for conveyor operations
2. Prepare job sites, to include organizing tools, materials, and equipment necessary for installations
3. Conduct routine inspections and assist in troubleshooting electrical systems to ensure proper functionality and compliance with safety standards
4. Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to all safety protocols and regulations
5. Participate in on-the-job training to enhance skills and knowledge related to electrical installations and controls automation
6. Assist in documentation of work performed, including updates to system configurations and installation records
7. Perform other related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
1. Any work week (Sunday thru Saturday) where an employee is asked to work more than 40 hours, each additional hour after 40 will be paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate. Anytime an employee is asked to work on a Sunday, the employee will be paid at 2 times the hourly rate.
2. During times of significant workload and/or project go-lives, an employee could be expected to work shifts greater than 12hrs and/or work weeks greater than 60hrs.
3. Employee will be expected, at times, to work off-shift hours and weekends at the pay rates outlined in bullet point 1. This will be at the manager’s discretion.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Knowledge & Competencies:
• Excellent customer service, time management and multi-tasking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Basic knowledge of electrical principles and experience with hand tools and electrical equipment preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel Controls Tech I Previous Experience / Education:
• High school diploma required.
• Valid driver’s license Physical Requirements
• Standing, walking, lifting, twisting and bending on a frequent basis
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
• Travel up to 50%
