KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / JOB DUTIES:

  • Respond to dispatched service calls at customer sites to diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on a wide range of commercial/industrial HVAC equipment, including but not limited to:

    • Control Valves and Related Components — Diagnose and repair signal, actuator, and control issues.
    • Heat Exchangers and Cooling Towers — Identify performance deficiencies, troubleshoot flow issues, perform cleanings, gasket replacements, and reassembly.
  • Provide detailed documentation of all service activities, including accurate completion of work orders, parts usage, recommendations, and service reports before leaving the job site.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members; deliver initial and follow-up training to customers on system operation and maintenance.
  • Identify opportunities to expand service offerings by discussing additional preventive maintenance contracts, upgrades, or related services with customers.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on field experience in commercial/industrial HVAC service, with proven expertise in chiller systems (including large-tonnage centrifugal and screw chillers preferred).
  • Relevant certifications, such as EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification and manufacturer-specific chiller training/certifications (e.g., Trane, Carrier, York, Daikin, or equivalent).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and controls systems.
  • Proficiency with computers and software, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and service management tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks (as required).
