The Traffic/Maintenance Attendant must demonstrate exceptional customer service skills and the ability to interact with customers in a friendly, professional, and helpful manner. This role is responsible for providing customer service at fuel pumps and working directly with the public. Duties include pumping fuel, accepting and processing payments, washing vehicle windows, and adding air to tires as needed.

During peak periods, the attendant will direct and manage traffic flow to ensure safety, efficiency, and smooth customer throughput. This position is also responsible for minor pump maintenance, including changing handles and buttons and replacing hoses in the event of a drive-off.

Additional responsibilities include safely and promptly cleaning fuel spills and maintaining a clean, safe, and organized property, including the fuel area, parking lot, and store exterior. The Traffic/Maintenance Pump Attendant will also perform general property, landscaping, and building maintenance as assigned.

Principle Duties
  • Directs and manages vehicle traffic flow during busy times.
  • Monitors fuel pump areas to prevent congestion and unsafe conditions.
  • Cleans and maintains fuel pumps, parking areas, sidewalks, and dumpster areas.
  • Assists customers with fueling, processing payments, cleaning windows, and providing tire air as needed.
  • Guides customers to available pumps and provides assistance as needed.
  • Removes garbage and maintains overall site cleanliness.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Take the Indian Country Class C UST Operator Training.

**Obtaining full COVID-19 vaccination, including booster, no later than 60 days from the hire date will be a condition of employment for all Samcor employees**

Working Conditions

Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs; long periods of standing (90% of time), sit (10% of time), as well as frequently stoop, squat, lift, kneel, bend, and reach (30% of time); possess manual dexterity sufficient to use gas pumps and related equipment; be physically able to move through property. Mental/Visual Demands: Mental, visual, and audio supervision of fuel pumps and equipment is needed. Working Environment: Partly indoors with heat and some air conditioning and partly outdoors which may include inclement weather. Must be able to move around for majority of shift. Unavoidable hazards/risks: Possibility of exposure to communicable diseases. Protective clothing or equipment may be required (goggles, gloves, masks, boots, etc.)
