What You'll Do:
General Ledger & Financial Reporting:
- Prepare and post journal entries with precision and timeliness
- Review and approve team member journal entries for accuracy and completeness
- Perform monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
- Prepare and review monthly financial statements
- Review bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy
- Execute accounts payable functions including vendor setup and W-9 management
- Manage accounts receivable and collections activities, including tenant collection efforts
- Assist with annual Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations
- Support annual budget preparation and forecasting processes
- Prepare 1099 forms for year-end reporting
- Cross-train on various accounting functions to enhance team efficiency
- Support special projects and ad hoc reporting requests
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and fundamentals
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Superior attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Experience with MRI, Sage 300, Spreadsheet Server, or Bottomline systems
- Background in real estate and/or construction industry accounting
- CPA candidate or pursuing professional certification
- Experience with property management accounting and CAM reconciliations
