The IT Technician I provides support services to internal and/or external users of the organization’s computer systems and data processing network. This position acts as a first level problem identification and resolution resource, including answering questions, providing advice, troubleshooting, and following-up to assist users in solving their own data processing problems. Coordinates user problem resolution with other data processing sections if necessary, tracks and reports recurring problems.
This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday from 7:30am-4:00pm.

Essential Functions
- Consult with users, analyze their computing needs, develop, and maintain database/spreadsheet applications.
- Conduct training programs on new or revised software applications; write support documentation and prepare training materials.
- Uses the ticketing system to create and update work tickets and documentation to support the configuration and maintenance of the various IT systems and functions
- Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and initiate corrective procedures; install and maintain software and hardware.
- Update and maintain various system software such as operating systems, security software systems, backup systems, directory maintenance, capacity and resource management systems, local software utilities and print systems.
- May assist and advise management regarding computing facility requirements and make recommendations as requested.
- Provide technical support to Samaritan Healthcare and its entities primarily in the areas of personal computers (PC’s), software for personal computers, and system connectivity.
- Ability to install and maintain various computer network systems and peripherals, diagnose hardware malfunctions/failures, install and upgrade software, and operate a variety of hand tools and computer diagnostic utilities.
- Provide day-to-day consulting services and development support, interpret user problems, and initiate the appropriate action for their resolution.
- Interface with vendors supplying software and hardware needs.
- Provide detailed technical support in the areas of the EHR/EMR, PC hardware specifications, PC software development and use, Network and PC/Mid‑range/Mainframe connectivity.
- Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
- Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body
- Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
- Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization’s values.
- Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
- Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.
The professional in this position reports to the Information Technology Director. This position works closely with all computer users within the organization in order to support their computing needs.
Education & Experience
- Education:
- Associate’s degree in a field related to Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- Experience:
- Two (2) years related experience required
- Skills/Competencies:
- Capable of analyzing a problem, understanding the impact to the organization and able to recommend a course of action for resolution.
- Proven skills and demonstrated success with managing complex projects, working independently, performing above expectations, and meeting standards of professional conduct and behavior.
- Strong mathematical, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling.
- Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public.
- Heavy physical effort, lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
