Samaritan Recovery Community is a caring, long-standing nonprofit substance abuse treatment provider serving Nashville and Middle Tennessee. Located in the historic East Nashville area with spectacular views of the downtown skyline and Tennessee Titans Football stadium, Samaritan Recovery Community provides intensive residential treatment, transitional living, intensive outpatient, and outpatient services. We are looking for a high energy, self-motivated, well-organized individual to fill the full-time Coordinator position in our Admissions department.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Job Summary: Responsible for the overall management of the Admissions and Medical Records Departments. Conduct client screening and admission interviews; schedule and process admissions to programs; coordinate and monitor bed space utilization; maintain effective communication with referral sources; participate as a member of the clinical staff in development, implementation and evaluation of programs and services, perform other related duties as required.
Duties: Recruit, hire, train and supervise Medical Records Clerk positions. Be knowledgeable of job duties of Medical Records personnel.
Responsible for receiving and processing incoming client referrals; conduct screening interviews and admissions.
Ensure that the applicable confidentiality release forms are signed by each new admission and included in the client’s chart.
Receive telephone and other agency referrals during business hours; assure referrals are appropriately received.
Seek appropriate input and evaluation from the clinical staff and other agency staff or consultants when a client seeking admission to SRC programs has significant medical, social, psychological, or psychiatric complications; make referrals to other agencies, as appropriate.
Conduct each step of client admission including initial intake and orientation, client contact with the business office, room assignment, orientation, “Buddy” assignment and introduction to counselor.
Responsible for monitoring funds allocated from each funding source and scheduling admissions accordingly.
Responsible for the overall maintenance of client records, ensure charts are stored in accordance with licensing and accreditation regulations and paperwork is filed in accordance with agency guidelines.
Monitor monthly audits of client records.
Collect Screening and Self-Pay fees and submit to Administrative Assistant within required time frame.
Assign beds to new clients; coordinate and monitor bed space utilization.
Assure that all screening, admission and intake information is received by medical records personnel.
Maintain accurate and updated statistical information regarding screening and admissions; regularly provide data to appropriate staff members for use in program planning. Use statistical data to prepare Utilization Management and statistical reports for PSO.
Report to Clinical Director and applicable program staff any unique or exceptional referral to any of the programs and report all information required or requested by a referring agency so appropriate follow-up with that agency can be implemented.
Participate in quality assurance, utilization review committee meetings and studies, and Professional Staff Organization meetings.
Conduct pre-certifications with insurance companies and designated state-funding sources and maintain UR log
Participate in training, professional development and affiliations in accord with agency goals and mission.
May provide direct treatment services such as focused group sessions, lectures, discussions, and workshops for clients and their families.
Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications: Licensed Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor (or eligibility) with experience working with co-occurring disorders or master’s level/licensed mental health clinician with experience working with substance abuse disorders, or bachelor’s level degree in social work, psychology, or related field, with a minimum of two years of counseling or assessment experience and LADAC eligibility.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervise three admissions clerks and the Client Care Specialist
