Pay Range: $17.00 $20.00 per hour (based on experience)
Position Overview
At Samaritan Way, our Recovery Coaches serve from the heartwalking alongside individuals on their journey from chaos to community. This role is built on lived experience, compassion, and a commitment to helping others build meaningful, purpose-driven lives in recovery.
Recovery Coaches act as mentors, advocates, and educators, providing peer-based support while empowering participants to achieve personal goals, develop life skills, and maintain long-term recovery.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one peer recovery support and mentorship
- Advocate for participants and help them navigate recovery resources
- Educate participants on recovery pathways, coping skills, and life skills
- Facilitate and lead recovery-based groups and classes
- Assist in developing personalized recovery plans
- Support daily operations of the drop-in center (welcoming environment, engagement, basic needs support)
- Encourage accountability, goal setting, and personal growth
- Maintain professional, supportive relationships with participants
- Complete documentation and case notes in a timely manner (EMR systems as applicable)
- Collaborate with staff, providers, and community partners
Minimum Requirements
- Valid drivers license and reliable personal vehicle
- State certification as a Recovery Coach (or ability to obtain within required timeframe)
- Minimum of 2 years sustained sobriety
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Friendly, compassionate, and supportive attitude
- Commitment to maintaining personal recovery
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in recovery support, peer coaching, or behavioral health
- Experience facilitating groups or public speaking
- Familiarity with EMR systems (I-Patient Care or similar)
- Basic computer and technology skills (email, documentation, scheduling tools)
