Help Diagnose Our Irrigation System

Founded in 1974, Samaritan Center is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization serving Central Texas. Samaritan Center’s philosophy is based on a holistic belief that there is a close relationship between the mind, body, spirit and community. This philosophy is the foundation of our multidisciplinary team approach to mental health. We provide professional counseling, integrative medicine, peer support, and wellness education that are accessible and affordable for all. Our Hope for Heroes program serves veterans and military families facing service-related trauma and stress. Services are free for veterans and members of military families, and very low-cost for low-income families. Most insurance is also accepted.

The Samaritan Center, a local nonprofit organization, is looking for a volunteer with experience in irrigation systems, sprinkler systems, or landscaping to help us assess an issue with our outdoor irrigation system.

Our irrigation system has not been operational for several months, and we're hoping someone with the appropriate experience would be willing to donate a little of their time to inspect the system, confirm the issue, and help us determine the best path forward.

A previous inspection indicated that

• The shutoff valve and DCA (backflow device) appear to have seized and may need replacement before the system can be tested.
• There is additional damage within the irrigation system, including a valve with a broken solenoid, a cut/broken pipe, and a controller that has geckos living inside it.
  
  

Because we have not yet been able to move forward with repairs, we would greatly appreciate someone who can

• Assess the current condition of the irrigation system.
• Confirm or clarify the previous findings.
• Recommend the most practical next steps.
• Provide a no-cost estimate or advice on repairs, if possible.
  
  

As a nonprofit, we operate with limited resources, so any donated time or expertise would make a meaningful difference. While we would be grateful for any additional assistance with repairs, our immediate need is someone who can help us diagnose the system and provide guidance.
