Social Media Marketing Intern
The Social Media Marketing Intern will conceptualize, direct, and create strong brand visuals for Samantha Siu New York. You will elevate the digital presence of our social media platforms (primarily Instagram and TikTok). Your responsibilities will include market research and brand outreach, identifying current and upcoming trends and collaborations. The intern will strategize with senior leadership on ways to incorporate the company’s aesthetic into content, thereby enhancing brand awareness, increasing audience engagement, and driving sales. You will collaborate with the Visual Team and CEO to organize video content and brand marketing strategies.

The Internship Experience
Samantha Siu New York internships provide hands-on training in the luxury jewelry industry, startup culture, and working in cross-functional teams. The internship experience includes position-specific mentorship from senior leadership as well as professional training throughout. As an intern, you'll be joining a collaborative, tight-knit, welcoming, and hardworking team that cares deeply about the Samantha Siu New York core values of quality, inclusion, and spreading good.
Internship Guidelines:
- This is an unpaid internship focused on skill-building and hands-on experience.
- Internship duration: 4-5 months, with the possibility of extension based on mutual interest, performance, and learning objectives
- Tentative Start Date: January 5, 2026
- Tentative End Date: May 4, 2026
- Nature of Employment: Part-Time Internship, Unpaid
- Hours/Week: 10-15
- Hybrid Work Environment: Onsite 1 day a week and remote meetings 1 day a week

Position Responsibilities
- Style Forecasting: Understanding and identifying current and upcoming trends
- Content Direction: Capable of planning, executing, and shooting content
- Social Media Visual Editing: Editing videos on TikTok and Instagram
- Brand Messaging: Collaborating with social media (Instagram, TikTok, and Pinterest) to create a consistent brand image through brand messaging, calendar planning, and by creating engaging content
- Brand Outreach: Researching content creators to collaborate with
- Visual Production: Producing still and animated content for social media management
- Editor: Writing and editing copy for blog posts and captions
- Visual Management: Developing Moodboards individually and with team
- Data Analysis: Analyzing company statistics to better understand where company stands and must progress towards
Who You Are
- Emerging marketing and content creator with knowledge of digital strategy, social media analytics, and content trends
- Skilled in video editing and visual storytelling using tools like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, and CapCut
- Familiar with major social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, Meta) and how algorithms influence audience engagement
- Strong writer and storyteller who creates compelling, on-brand narratives for diverse audiences
- Analytical thinker who interprets engagement data to inform content strategy and performance improvements
- Organized multitasker skilled in time management, prioritization, and collaboration across projects

Work Environment/Physical Demands

- Minimal Physical Demands (Able to lift small items up to 20 lbs)
Required Education
- High School Diploma
- Working towards a college degree
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong interest in the fashion industry and jewelry
- Prior experience in social media management or video editing/production
- Proficiency in Photoshop, Capcut (or an application equivalent), Canva, etc.
- Ability to develop monthly social media strategies and campaign plans
- Proficient in Instagram, Tiktok, and other social media platforms
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite and Google Suite
- Strong writing skills with the ability to produce clear, concise, and professional content
