Preferred qualifications include graduation from an in-residence executive development program such asLEMIT-LCC,FBINA,ILEA,SMIP,SPI, or Northwestern Executive Development Program.
Nature And Purpose Of Position
Plans, administers, manages, and directs all activities of the De-escalation Training Center (DTC), operating under aBJAde-escalation grant, and the Center for Intelligence and Crime Analysis (CICA). Additionally, the position is responsible for all in-residence executive development programs, which include the Leadership Command College (LCC), Texas Constables Leadership College (TCLC) and the Fire Executive Management Training program (FEMT). All are within the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas (LEMIT) atSHSU.

This is a full-time, benefits eligible, grant funded position. Continuation of the position is contingent upon continued funding.**
Primary Responsibilities
Responsible for the administration of the regional De-Escalation Training Center (DTA) grant, the Center for Intelligence and Crime Analysis (CICA), the Leadership Command College (LCC), Texas Constables Leadership College (TCLC) and the Fire Executive Management Training program (FEMT) withinLEMIT. Maintains liaison work with agencies and governments related to the operations of both centers and associated projects. Responsible for the development, evaluation, and effectiveness of the grant(s). In the case of theDTA, the Director oversees the coordination of the delivery of training and curriculum to law enforcement officers by scheduling courses to be delivered by providers external toSHSU. Collaborates with other regional de-escalation training centers and national training coordinator to ensure consistent and certified training. In the case ofCICAoperations, the director coordinates instructors for the certification program and should be familiar with law enforcement intelligence operations and crime analysis. Schedules course offerings, identifies venues, delivers training withSHSUstaff or other recognized and qualified SMEs. Ideally, the director has a background in criminal intelligence operations and crime analysis and is able to instruct some or all of the course material. Provides supervision to training staff, counselors, and administrative supports. Additionally, the position responsible for all in-residence executive development programs and associated staff.Performs other related duties as assigned.

Other University departments, State and Federal agencies, and outside vendors. Background in criminal intelligence operations and crime analysis and is able to instruct some or all of the course material.
