Saw Operator- Dar

This position is responsible for reviewing the material list, accurately identifying material, and properly and accurately cutting the appropriate material to the desired lengths and quantity with an accuracy of 1/16”.  This position is responsible for the safe efficient operation of large computerized saws on a continual basis. This position is responsible for constant accurate output of cut materials to be moved to the next work center based on specified job orders in the production process. This position is responsible to work at a pace that continually keeps work moving through the system and ensures the promised ship dates are met.  This position must use knowledge of past projects to problem solve issues, assist others in problem solving, and train new employees to be proficient in their respective positions. This position must be able to effectively communicate with employees and other supervisors. This position is responsible for ensuring production goals and quality standards are met on a continual basis from one product to the next. This position is responsible for properly adhering to Company policies and complying with required standards for work orders and labor laws within the Material Prep Department on a continual basis from one product to the next and one employee to the next.

Essential Job Functions:

• Work with co-workers and management
• Properly and accurately read a tape measure down to 1/16^th inch increments
• Work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
• Work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
• Work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)
• Other duties as assigned by management

Skills/Qualifications Required:

• Punctual
• Effectively follow directions
• Work scheduled shifts
• Operate a crane for use in lifting materials and work items off of the table
• Able to read and write at 3^rd grade level
• Able to read tape measure to 1/16” increments
• Able to pass basic math test
• Able to pass basic fractions test
• Able to operate basic power tools (grinder & drill)

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work scheduled shifts
• Ability to bend, stoop, sit, grasp with hands, feel texture with fingers, cling, walk, twist, stand, and work on concrete for up to twelve hours per day up to six (6) days per week
• Must be able to work at heights of greater than 6 feet on a regular basis/as work dictates
• Ability to work overtime when necessary/required and with short notice
• Ability to work in all weather conditions as job requires working inside and outside through the course of a single shift
• Ability to work in the natural element of heat and cold (production facility is not heated in winter nor cooled in summer)
