What are the responsibilities and job description for the Red Shield Youth Center Site Director (5022) position at SALVATION ARMY A GEORGIA CORP?
Schedule/ Hours: Position requires regular business hours, afternoon, evening, nights, and weekends as needed, normally 40 hours per week. Schedule could occasionally vary to provide oversight to programs, attend events and address urgent matters.
This position is responsible for:
Plans, coordinates, directs, evaluates and manages the overall daily operations of the designated Center, with the primary concern for programs and service delivery, supervision and training of staff, facilities management, program safety, community relations, and youth membership administration. Manages the delivery and supervision of a variety of youth programs within a specific center. Supervises a team of Program Instructors ensuring compliance with operational, program and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serves as a liaison with Corps programming staff to identify and incorporate mission alignment and outcomes.
- Participates in the Salvation Army’s ministry advancement by collaborating with the Salvation Army Officers to ensure Red Shield Youth Centers provide an engaging, enriching and empowering environment where youth develop Christ-like character, preparing them to become tomorrow’s leaders
- Coordinates services with local schools, referral sources, and students. Represents the Center in the community and builds a professional and positive image of The Salvation Army. May be required to transport youth center members and staff to/from center and approved activities and events.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Must be able to remain in stationary position frequently.
- Frequently move about the community to complete job duties.
- Frequently operates a computer and other office equipment.
- Frequently communicates with staff, partners, community, and the like to conduct regular business operations.
- Seldom move boxes or items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Daily operation and use of software and computer applications required for business functions.
- Occasional to frequent operation of a personal motor vehicle and operation of company vehicle relevant to carrying out job duties required for the position.
- Ability to communicate with individuals utilizing a telephone, computer, or other electronic device.
- Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of spoken words, communicating orally with others accurately and clearly.
- Ability to drive an approved vehicle to transport youth center staff and members in a safe manner obeying all driving requirements and standards.
- Position requires travel within the community and to participate in off-site Center events. May require travel outside of the geographic area of Center location.

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field And
- Three (3) years of proven experience in managing programs for youth, preferably in an after-school or community center setting Or
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Valid State Driver’s License
- Must be able to obtain CPR and First Aid certification
