ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY
Schedule/Hours: 5 days per week, including Saturday
This position is responsible for:
Ensures the health, safety and welfare of those using the aquatics facilities of The Salvation Army Ray & Joan Kroc Corps Community Center; provides constant surveillance of pool activities; observes swimmers, and enforces regulations in the guarding of life and the prevention of accidents; maintains the cleanliness of the pool and pool area; monitors and controls the chemical levels of pool water ensuring proper levels are maintained at all times; prepares pool records accurately and completely.
Key Responsibilities:
- Duty 1: Maintains constant surveillance of members, guests, and visitors of the aquatic facility, acts immediately and appropriately to secure the safety of the same in the event of an emergency.
- Duty 2: Provides emergency lifesaving assistance to troubled or drowning swimmers; performs lifesaving CPR and first aid in accordance with certified practices
- Duty 3: Maintains the cleanliness of the pool water; vacuums pool; scrubs walls, back washes filter system, tests the pool water as scheduled in order to maintain the correct chemical balance of the pool water
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Moderate amount of physical effort required associated with walking, standing, lifting, bending, twisting, and carrying light to moderately objects ( up to 50 lbs.) occasionally.
- Work is performed in an outdoor pool environment where there may be physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomfort associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like.

Qualifications:
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR IN YOU
Education
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred AND
- No formal experience required, OR
- Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Licenses and Certifications:
- LGI Certification (or ability to obtain within an established timeframe)
- C.P.R., First Aid, and A.E.D. Certification (or ability to obtain within an established timeframe)
