SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
- Opening the pool before events
- Monitor areas of activity
- Use preventative safety measures
- Respond to injuries, incidents, and emergencies as directed by the university
- Enforce facility pool rules
- Monitoring weather to enforce safety of patrons
- Maintaining a clean and safe environment
- Attend monthly in-services
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Ability to perform first aid
- Ability to perform water rescues
- Effective communication with patrons, facility managers, Campus Recreation Coordinator and Assistant Dean of Students
- Vigilance when monitoring patrons
- Knowledge of rules and regulations
ADDITIONAL REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS
- Punctual and consistent
- Critical thinking skills
- Active communication skills
- Great customer service skills
- Quick response to emergencies
- Ability to work in a high-stress environment
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED
Must have a current Lifeguard Certificate
CPR/AED/First Aid certified
